Bring notes to a test

Write notes before the test and read them while you answer.

On some tests you can bring your own notes. You write them before the test, and during the test you can read them. Your teacher can also read your notes.

Write your notes

Open the test

Go to Assigned tests in Edulink Assessment(opens in a new tab) and select the test. If your teacher lets you bring notes, you see Your notes on the page.

Write or add

  • Select Write notes to write a note. You can have several notes.
  • Select Add document to add a PDF or Word file. The button only shows if your teacher allows files.

Each note and each file shows as a tile. Select a tile to open it, or the bin to remove it.

Save

Select Save in the Unsaved changes bar at the bottom of the screen. Select Cancel to discard the changes.

If it says Your notes are too long, shorten them before you save. All your notes together can have 10,000 characters.

When your notes lock

You can change your notes until the test opens for you. Under Your notes it says when that is. After that your notes are locked. You can still open and read them, but not change them.

Read your notes in the test

Select the notes button at the top of the test.

  • On a computer your notes open in a panel beside the tasks. Select the button again to hide them. If the test has a task beside the writing area, switch between Task and Notes at the top of the panel.
  • On a phone your notes open at the bottom of the screen.
