Grade submissions

Set points, write comments and give a grade.

Find the submissions

Select Submissions at the top of the test's page. Here you see the pupils who have submitted, with:

  • Tasks graded: how many tasks are graded, and whether any need approval
  • Points: the points so far
  • Published: whether the pupil sees the feedback
  • Grade

Select a pupil to start grading.

If you do not want to see who has submitted while you grade, turn on anonymous grading before you start.

Grade the tasks

Edulink Assessment has already graded the tasks that can be graded automatically. See Points and automatic grading.

  • Fully correct or fully wrong: the points are set.
  • Partly correct: you get Suggested points. Select Approve to keep the suggestion, or Decline to set the points yourself.
  • Text answers: you set the points yourself.

Choose points in the menu next to each task. A task with "-" is not graded. At the top you see how many tasks are graded, and how many need approval.

Comment

  • On a task: select Comments next to the task and then New comment.
  • In a text answer: select text in the pupil's answer and choose Add comment, or Highlight to colour the text.

You can also correct the pupil's text directly. The changes are shown as corrections, like in a word processor. With Show original you see the text as the pupil submitted it, and with Show with comments you see your grading again. Reset to original removes all corrections and all comments on the task, including those under Comments.

If the task has a Model answer, it is shown below the answer.

Set a grade

You find the Feedback section both at the top and at the bottom of the page. There you write:

  • Grade: enter the grade, or choose from the list.
  • Comment: an overall comment to the pupil.

If the test uses a grade scale, you see Suggested grade. Select Use suggested grade to use it.

Go to the next pupil

Select Next and Previous, or use Ctrl + → and Ctrl + ← (Cmd on Mac). Select the name to choose another pupil from the list.

Saving

Everything is saved automatically. Several teachers can grade the same pupil at the same time.

See what the pupil sees

Select Preview to see the feedback as the pupil will see it. The pupil sees nothing until you publish the feedback. See Publish the feedback.
