Test settings
Time window, anonymous grading, spell check, secure browser and more.
You find the settings in the Settings section on the test's page. There you see how the test is set up. Each setting is marked Enabled or Not enabled.
Change the settings
Select Edit
Select Edit at the bottom of the Settings section.
Make the changes
The settings are divided into Publishing and schedule, During the test and After submission. See the overview below.
Select Save in the Unsaved changes bar at the bottom of the screen. Select Cancel to discard the changes.
If pupils have already started the test in the secure browser, and you change Allowed apps or Bookmarks, the app asks Save these changes? first. Pupils who have the test open must then close it and start it again. Their answers are kept. Select Save changes to save.
Publishing and schedule

| Name | The name of the test. |
| Opens and Closes | When pupils can open and take the test. Individual pupils can get their own time window. See Accommodations for individual pupils. |
During the test
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Anonymous grading | Hides pupil names while you grade. See Grade tests anonymously. |
| Spell check | Pupils get spell check in text answers. Under Default spell check language you choose the language it starts with. With None, pupils choose the language themselves. The spell check runs in the browser, and no text is sent anywhere. |
| Secure browser | The test runs locked in Safe Exam Browser. When it is on, you choose Allowed apps, and the test gets a Quit password. See Turn on the secure browser. |
| Bookmarks | Websites pupils get links to in the test. With the secure browser these are the only websites pupils can open. Your school decides which websites you can choose from. |
After submission
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Grade scale | Suggests a grade based on the score as a percentage. See Use a grade scale. |
| Let pupils view their submission immediately | Pupils can read and download their answers right after they have submitted. If it is off, they must wait until you have published the feedback. Grade, comments, points and correct answers are hidden until the feedback is published regardless. |
